About Deception Island
Deception Island is a little sub-antarctic Part of the South Shetland Islands.The island was first sighted on January 29, 1820 by William Smith and Edward Bransfield.Later there was the southernmost brewery.
In 1944 the first research station was built on Deception Island.The vulcano of the Isle destroyed the Bases. Today nobody live on the Island.
Now it is a independent Republik with own government , people and laws.
Political System
The presidential Republic of Deception Island has a President , a
Finance Minister, a Health Minister, an Interior Minister, a Foreign Minister, a Minister of Economic Affairs and a Defense Minister. The President represents all ministers if their office is currently vacant. Every member of the parliament can suggest an new law ,but at least 50% of parliament must agree to it, after which it will be examined by the national Constitutional Court before it comes into force.Everyone with a Citizenship can found a political party. Each party who has more than 5% of the votes will be admitted to parliament.
